The dog dayz of Summer!

In Chicago you can go through all the seasons in one day. On June 21st of this year the weather finally decided to change to summer, and it has been HOT ever since. The occasional thunder storms come to cool us down, but it is still hot nevertheless. That being said, as a teacher people expect me to sit home the next couple of months and collect a check. Unfortunately that misconception is all the way wrong. I believe I have worked harder this summer than I have my whole life. I am teaching summer school, planning the 4th grade reading and math curriculum, and buying a house. Now let me inform you that as a teacher we have to attend professional developments to retain our certification, therefore I am in two summer technology training courses.( I figured with all the technology there is to learn I wouldn't be bored to death!)
I wish I could lay down in th soft grass and feel the wind blow over my face. I wish I could spray my children with water at Wiscosin Dells. I wish I could lay around all day and do absolutely nothing at all besides eat and sleep, but I am an educator and my job is never done.
Thank you Lord for the Summer months!
